Invisalign

Why Invisalign and not train tracks?

Invisalign aligners are clear and discreet, unlike traditional metal braces.  The aligners can be removed for brushing, flossing, and eating, allowing good oral hygiene.

How long do I need to wear them for?

The aligners consist of a sequence of clear, removable trays that fit over the teeth to straighten them. Each tray must be worn for a specified amount of time-usually around 22 hours a day for seven days before you can progress to the next tray.

Do they hurt?

Because the trays are changed on a weekly basis they push the teeth more gently than wired, traditional braces, so you may feel slight pressure but they do not hurt.

Will my teeth move in the future?

At n22dental we provide retainers to hold your teeth in place, and we advise you to wear them as long as you want your teeth to be straight.  They are removable clear retainers which can be worn at night time to maintain your new straighter teeth. We also offer in some cases, a bonded retainer, which is wire bonded to the back of the teeth (so it is not seen) to give additional security in preventing teeth from moving in adjunction to the removable retainers.
