Dental Examination

What happens during a dental examination?

Dental examinations at n22dental are focused on providing a thorough health check of your teeth, gums and soft tissues of the mouth. Our dentists will perform a check for gum disease, mouth cancer and tooth decay, as well as completing X-rays if required. Should further treatment be required, we will talk you through your options so you feel fully informed.

How often do I need a check-up?

On average, we recommend coming in to receive a dental examination twice a year.  Our approach at the practice is focused on prevention. By seeing you regularly, offering advice and getting to know you, we can hopefully minimise the need for intervention, while ensuring your oral health is well maintained for the long-term.

What can I do to help keep my teeth healthy?

Preventive dentistry starts at home, which means we recommend brushing your teeth twice daily for two minutes, as well as flossing or using interdental brushes daily. We can also recommend lifestyle and diet changes that can help prevent oral health issues. If you are unsure of how best to care for your teeth, then alongside your treatment coordinator, we can help develop a bespoke treatment plan that works for you.
