Dentures

What are dentures?

Dentures are designed to help replace teeth that are either missing or damaged beyond repair. Traditionally dentures have been removable and made up of a base normally made of acrylic or chrome that sits over the gums, and a set of prosthetic teeth.

How many teeth can they be used to replace?

Dentures are usually fitted as either a partial or full set. This means that they can be used to replace anywhere from a whole arch, to several teeth at once. In some cases, a denture can also be used to replace a single tooth.

Why do I need dentures?

We always recommend replacing missing teeth where it’s appropriate to do so. Missing teeth can lead to a variety of dental health issues in the future, and can also affect the patient’s self-confidence and smile. Dentures can help rectify these various issues as well as helping the patient to speak and eat more easily than with a missing tooth or teeth.
