White Fillings

Why have a White Filling?

A filling is used to help fill in a gap or cavity in a tooth that may have appeared due to decay, or in some cases due to injury or simple wear and tear. Having a white (tooth coloured) filling helps restore the tooth, and does not look as obvious as silver (metal) filling.

What is the treatment for a white filling like?

This is a fairly routine treatment, involving the application of an anaesthetic so you don’t feel anything in the area being treated. When this has taken effect, we will remove the decayed and/or infected part of the tooth and thoroughly clean the area.

Once clean we restore the tooth, in small increments, setting them with a light back to full function.

How do I care for my filling?

A filling can be cared for just as you would a natural tooth. We recommend brushing your teeth twice daily for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste, as well as flossing regularly, and visiting us here for regular check-ups.
